Sweet & Spicy Tofu with Rice
25 Minutes and 10 Ingredients - 4 Servings
Ingredinets:
1 cup - Basmati Rice (uncooked)
2 Tbsps - Soy Sauce
1/2 cup - Water (plus more if needed)
3 tbsps - Maple syrup
2 tsps - Paprika
2 tsps - Garlic Powder
1/4 tsp - Cayenne Pepper
1 1/2 tsps - Arrowroot Powder
1 1/16 lbs - Tofu (extra -firm, pressed, and cubed)
1/4 cup - Chives (chopped, plus more for garnish)
Directions:
Cook the rice according to the Package Directions
Whisk together the soy sauce, water, maple syrup, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne, and arrowroot powder. set aside.
Heat a non - stick pan over medium -high heat. Cook the tofu in the pan until golden, about six to eight minutes, flipping and tossing every couple of minutes.
Reduce the heat to low and add the soy sauce mixture. Cook for another minute, stirring to coat and adding a little water at a time, if necessary, to achieve desired sauce consistency.
Add the chives to the rice and stir to combine.
Divide the rice evenly between plates. Top with the tofu and garnish with extra chives,
you can use Cauliflower Rice
